The toy store is by far one of our most favorite places to go, although it had been a while, and after a couple weeks of Tori requesting to go see Spider-Man and Iron Man (who make appearances daily around 11 am), Mom was finally the real hero and delivered.
FAO Shwartz is so great for a number of reasons. They are the only business now that offers a free story and song time. They have full scale, hands on displays along side sales people through out the store to demonstrate product. The bakery and candy shop...enough said. Kid friendly. It's in midtown (yes that's a great thing in my opinion). Spider-man and Iron Man, the reason for Tori's infatuation. Toy Soldier doormen. Oh, and the piano from the movie, "Big?" We've totally played on it. None of the merchandise is affordable, but with this weather, it's a magical, free indoor heaven and even on our worst days, we always leave there happy. So, behold...toy central!

There is a whole wall of hats! I try not to think of how many people have tried them on along side us, because that puts a slight damper in the fun! |

The Big Piano!! I LOVE that Brighton is walking because Tori has been so apprehensive of playing on this until this last visit, I think completely because little brother jumped right on! |
|
Brighton's stance haha, taking it all in! |
|
The Lego statues! Batman, of course, is hunky even in Lego form! |
|
The FAO Shwartz toy soldier Lego! Tori won't get close to the live ones. |
We went here the first time with our friends Anastasia, Sasha, and Hudson who now, alas, have returned to Atlanta, but Tori still associates the store with her friend "Shasha." And as previously mentioned, Tori LOVES Spider-Man. She refuses to get close to either of them due to an unintentional fright when both characters were waiting in line behind us to board the elevator. My reaction was really the clencher, because Iron Man is HUGE. He towered over me with glowing eyes, haha, which come on! I live in New York, so I kind of feel like I'm on edge ready to sudo chop anyone...especially anyone with glowing eyes. Since then, I haven't been able to convince her to go meet them, but from the safe distance of the lower level, she will shout up to Spider-Man and blow kisses. Baby steps!
