We were feeling adventurous and decided to take up an invite to the Bronx Zoo, which is an hour commute with one subway ride, a few blocks walk, and then a bus ride. The whole day was enjoyable although tiring, and the aftermath of Brighton only sleeping for 10 minutes the entire day was extremely rough, but worth it. Thanks to our amazing friends, the whole day only cost like $7. We got into the zoo as well as additional attractions like the monorail where Tori saw her first elephant and the gorilla exhibit for free! It was a day well spent.

Brighton got his own seat on the bus. |

Tori and her best bud Paul |
|
Deborah, my neighbor and her little guy Penn. They are the best! |

Entrance to the zoo, thought it was an aesthetically pleasing sign. |

The gorillas loved Tori. This one came down from his tree to and sat right in front her. |
|
This one also went out of her way to come see the kids. They put on a good show. |

Tori was our tour guide. She frequently whipped out the map to give us "directions." |
|
This was a neat tunnel we passed through outside of the zoo. |
|
Psyched about riding the carousel without me. |

At the butterfly exhibit, which we didn't go in, so we'll be making our way back to see it. Tori loves butterflies. |
It was a very tiring day, but I've been told this zoo is one of the best in the nation, so worth checking out. I would say it lived up to the hype. It wasn't a typical city zoo...very open, woody, jungly, and lots and lots of animals to see. They also had camel rides, I mean come one.

Tori is adorable!! I am jealous of all your fun, I love New York, but I don't know if I could handle living there. I love your idea of pictures in a book for Tori :)
