How cool is it that Brighton turned 1 in New York City?? I guess I'll be turning 30 in New York City, but heck actually laying claim to a number of years being alive is made extra cool by location I believe : ) With Brighty I decided to start implementing my new tradition for birthdays, which was to do whatever he wanted to do that day. Being that he couldn't speak up for himself, I took a guess. Bright is pretty much confined to either sitting in his stroller or crawling around our apartment. I've been noticing how anxious he is to spread his wings and fly. So, I decided to go find us a grassy area in Central Park, spread out a blanket, and let the kid crawl to his hearts content. And yes he loved it!

His big present from us was a giant plush teddy bear that we happened upon and got the most amazing reaction from him with. So, this is post park crawling, taking a minute to snuggle and later wrestle with his big buddy! |

Brighton admiring Tori running! |

My kids love cucumbers! It's so great! Brighton in general loves anything he can hold and numb on! |

Checking out the grass. |

Some swinging time! |

Tori and I got to play some catch, Simon Says, Red Light/Green Light, Duck, duck, goose!, and practice some good ole fashioned cartwheels. |

Tori and I had picked out a monster cake we were going to attempt to make but when we got to the grocery store we found this football ice cream cake. I asked Tori if she would prefer to make one or buy this one, and we were in agreement that an already made cake seemed better. |

And with football season upon us, I threw together some football grub, literally threw together. |
