Picture Perfect

I told Brandon that while I'm living life, I'm usually planning a blog about it, haha, but date nights are deserving of an entry. We've been lucky to have two date nights recently, courtesy of Aunt Tara and the Marshall family. Most recently Brandon had the super fun, creative, and cute idea to go on a photo scavenger hunt to find the letters in our last name, and to just practice the ole art of photography. Conveniently, Brandon is a great photographer, and while I may not be a great editor, it's something I really enjoy still. So it was a date idea that kept on giving. I had to insist we NOT get a picture in the car like we always do, so instead we did the traditional couple shot on a dimly lit 9th street, downtown, in front of someone's house, haha. Much better than the car. What's so awesome about this date is Brandon and I have been trying to think of things that don't cost money. At the end of the date we both realized neither of us had our wallets, kind of funny and mission accomplished...a totally free date unless you need to fill your car, which thankfully we didn't.
And this was what we came up with. Definitely not a finished product because downtown didn't have as many dilapidated signs as we had hoped, but still turned out cool. Brandon wants to eventually frame each letter for our wall. Agreed...he's pretty awesome!

Here's some Mary Poppins action for your viewing pleasure. We spent a lot more time at the capital building than planned, but admittedly, it has some nice features. I've been playing with these bokeh photoshop brushes, and although I know I don't use them correctly, I still like the look of them : ) And this fabulous sign on 8th street. While Boise and I have had a love/hate relationship, I can't deny that downtown has captured a piece of my heart.

And if I haven't bragged enough, Brandon and I snagged up these Fun Club Cards off a living social deal (like groupon), for $19, which included 4 day passes to Brundage Ski Resort (normally $55/person/day), and along with golf passes, zip lining, paint balling, a gym membership, a rafting trip and surprisingly more, came these monthly passes to The Front Climbing Gym. We haven't been bouldering since we lived in Colorado, and honestly, I thought I liked it so much just because I was on a perma happy high in Colorado, but I stand mistaken. LOVED it equally much in Boise if not more!

The comical aspect to this date night came as we sat in the car for 30 minutes deciding if we wanted to go in. The interesting thing about this climbing wall is all the seating is facing the wall, so when we arrived, there were a ton of spectators, and a lot of hard core climbers...we were feeling a bit out of our league. We decided to gird up our loins and give it a go anyway. So worth it! Apparently Brandon was so nervous for me he couldn't stop shaking because I we didn't have one non-blurry photo of me.
