Birthday and random thoughts and tid bits....

Well, of course I had to share some of my birthday fun! I usually consider it a birthday right to pick what I'm going to do that day. Last year, we went shopping in Missoula, and for those that don't know, I have recently accepted the fact that I am not a good shopper and thus don't really enjoy it. So, this year I swore off any shopping and just wanted a dinner and movie alone with the husband. Thanks to Aunt Tara and Uncle Gary, Brandon and I were able to go out for the first time in what feels like a really, really long time.

Here's our traditional in the car picture, because I always feel too dumb to take a pic in a theater or restaurant. Embarressingly, I was SOOOOO excited for a date night that I prissed practically the entire day and even sported some heels.

I've wanted to see Red Riding Hood since the moment I layed eyes on it, so Brandon willingly subjected himself to what had potential for being a totally lame movie haha. Was it lame (I'm sure you all are eager for my movie review)? Yes and no. Of course, I loved it, but it was shockingly more dark and sinister than I expected (keeping in mind that I thought it would be more like Twilight). And the end....well, it's just weird! I stand by it, because I like Amanda Seyfried and there was actually a part in the movie that made me almost jump out of my seat, which is impressive.
I've been craving Mexican food, which is funny because my first trimester the thought repulsed me. I guess I'm making up for it now : ) So, Brandon looked up an authentic Mexican restaurant that had gotten good reviews. He wanted us to scope it out first and he seemed really embarressed to discover that it was super ghetto. I reminded him that most good authentic Mexican places looked ghetto. However, when the time came, my craving for Wingers sticky fingers won, and conveniently too so we could watch the BYU game, woot woot!
So that was Saturday, on my actual birthday I woke with half my face feeling so much pressure I thought it was going to pop. Stupid allergies or whatever it is! I ended up sleeping until 2, and then Gary, Tara, and Cody came over to cook me dinner, which was so super awesome of them because they usually have plans on Sundays.

Brandon got me two cakes this year. One chocolate, and one sent straight from heaven, with Italian creme topping and coconut shreds. It was beautiful! Hands down the best cake I have ever had (and I don't like cake for the record so that's saying something).

Making my birthday wishes! Sure love my sweet fam and friends!
