Christmas Day 2010

Well, disappointingly enough, Blogger doesn't support the type of video my camera takes, so I guess my magical words and pictures will have to suffice. After a month or so of working on Tori's present we finally got to give it to her....and as expected it was sort of anti-climatic. I say "as expected" because Tori tends to get excited over super random stuff and then the things Brandon and I are excited to do with Tori she usually cries through, such as sledding, eating her first Birthday cake, recieving most likely her last big gift from Santa, etc. Brandon and I found this power wheels Barbie Jeep at DI for $35 and it works awesome. It can even pick up FM radio! Brandon decided to paint the rims and grill a shiney silver, and we got her a personalized license plate. All in all, we were pretty pleased with the end result. Bringing Tori up Christmas morning, I had a picture of her running over to it and squealing in excitement...but alas, she cried and clung to Brandon and I for the first part of the morning. In all fairness, it was crazy in this house. Presents everywhere, kids everywhere, it was so fun!!!But she finally warmed up to the idea, and we were able to get her excited enough to sit in it! Later, we got video of her driving it, and it's pretty much awesome! I was sure it would scare her to death, but she just laughed and laughed. Very gratifying in the end I guess!
Here's all the girl cousins checking out the new wheels. I think our cousin Meygan made things a lot more fun for Tori. The two of them would run back and forth between their new toys, and you can tell Meygan just brings out a braver more interactive side of the Tori.

Tori also got a new baby and cradle that Grandma Sessions and Great Grandpa Barnette made for her. She's so into that right now!
And another fun gift from Grandma Sessions were these Princess TPs. They had windows and everything. We got so much fun stuff, but my favorite part was seeing Tori play so good with her cousins.
Brandon and I got a lot of fun surprises. For gifts between families this year we were supposed to keep it homemade, which was so hard for me but I loved what we got. Ben and Amber made us an FHE binder with thoughts, activities, drawings, cut outs, even songs and references. It was awesome! My mom also made me a binder full of piano music! My parents have made it a tradition to give each family a bit of food storage also, which I really, really look forward to. This year we got a package of dry food breakfasts that will make 40 meals and has a shelf life of 30 years...sort of fantastic. And another favorite and also a really good idea, was a huge book on how to live off the land. Super interesting!
Brandon wasn't supposed to get me anything after my dance class but of course he surprised me with a purse I had been drooling over for months that I found here in Salmon. It was quite the surprise.
We spent the rest of the day sledding which I have realized I'm terrified of! On tubes coupled with my new found weight, I thought it was terrifying. I'd much rather be on a snowboard!
