Pardon the randomness, but Brandon and I have recently discovered the thrills of bargain shopping. DI has become a fantastic place for us to shop. Brandon is in process of acquiring a full weight set, we managed to find a Barbie Jeep power wheels for Tori's Christmas present, and a lot of my decor in the house has come from dollar purchases at the DI. We've also got Tori a bunch of outside toys to and a basketball hoop for our driveway. It's been amazing! Typically I'm kind of a snob about secondhand shopping, what can I say?? Other than I've been a fool, haha!
Recently, I've been working out the color scheme for our bedroom, when at Marshall's (yes I know that's not a secondhand store) Brandon pointed out this bedspread. My initial reaction was I hated it....BUUUUT, the price was very right, and quite frankly we were both sick of the comforter we had which had been worn down to just thin pieces of fabric with bunched up cotton on the four corners. I figured I could make do with this comforter until we could afford what I wanted....however, getting it home and putting it together, I just fell in love with it, and all it's possibilities! My initial plans for the room are now taking form in my downstairs living room, and our bedroom is going a whole different direction. Brandon and I have had a lot of fun! And quite frankly we've been able to do more for Tori and ourselves by learning to practice a little open mindedness and self-discipline (and when I say "we" I mean "me").
