Well I can't help doting on my kid every now and then, and especially since we moved to Boise (those highlights coming at a later date). For those that know me, know that I had always assumed we'd have a boy first...that's what I envisioned because I had a big brother, so I wanted my girls to have a big brother. When we found out we were having a girl, I was quite literally shocked. Of course, I would have been happy either way, but I hadn't given a lot of SERIOUS thought about a baby girl (hence the name trouble). This move to Boise with all its ups and downs has really reaffirmed the blessings that a little girl has been on my life. Tori is like the perfect best friend. She has nearly all my same interests, thinks everything I have to offer is awesome, everything's funner to her when I'm there (I don't think that's an assumption, she always pats an area close to her when she's playing and says "Sit, sit."), she's forgiving, and sees the better parts of me rather than the weaker parts. My transition into motherhood has been a bumpy one, but I think I'm finally seeing why this particular spirit was sent to me, and I feel more and more grateful for her everyday! She is learning so fast, and in my efforts to be a better mom, I've been trying to implement an activity a day to teach her about new things. It's so good for both of us, me because I need projects and something to do during this transition, and Tori, well for obvious reasons! Love my girl!

My mom gave me a book called "slow and Stead Get me ready" By June R Oberlander its full of activities to help a child develop fine and large motor skills as well as everything else they need. There is an acitivty for every week of the year until they are 5. Its been a great resource for ideas. I wish I was on top of it enough to do one a week, but I am not THAT awesome of a mom yet. Maybe with my last.
You might want to check it out at least.
