Birthday Fun...

Well turning 27 is sort of a big age, haha, no...nothing super special about being 27, except if you're me, because it's the first birthday I've had as a Mom and not just a fat and cranky pregnant woman, so of course it made sense to celebrate by leaving Tori with Grandma and Grandpa Sessions, while Brandon and I took a day trip to Missoula, Montana. Brandon's present to me was free reign to shop for whatever I wanted. We also went to Alice in Wonderland in 3D, which didn't get the greatest reviews, but I actually really enjoyed it minus some super cheesy parts. In retrospect, it probably wasn't the most fantastic 3D movie I've ever seen (nothing will beat Captain EO), but I absolutely adored the characters...the Red Queen, March Hare, and Absolute being my top favs.

Tori ended up getting an early birthday present. She for some reason hasn't figured out how to drink out of a sippy cup, but drinks out of straws fine, so we got her one these, and she loves it!

So, my main treat for myself this year has been doing a little redecorating inspired by some candlesticks my friend Brie introduced me too. The overall project will be in the mix for a while, but I was able to kick it off by doing some painting projects this week.

This is my favorite piece so far...Brandon got me this key holder at DI. I mixed this color myself, and although it's quite a bit more purple than the paint swatch we picked out, I still really love it...my favorite feature is the dirty mirror there.

Some of our old picture frames spiced up a bit. I'm doing a big collage of a bunch of family pictures we've had done this year by my sis-in-law Brits. There's still a lot of painting and printing to be done. Much to Brandon's dismay, I'm leaving some of the frames completely empty.

And this dresser is how we'll be redoing our entertainment unit. So I'm busy, busy as you can see!
