So listen to this crazy story we've got for. Jen and I have been dying to do some hiking lately and since neither of us had work or school today, we decided to go for it. The only problem is that all the mountains are still covered with snow right now, so we decided to do a little waterfall hunting. We also wanted to do something with the Munks before they headed back to Cali, so Daman was able to come with us even though Britney had to work. Anyway, we decided to go to an area on the border of Yellowstone National Park that a lot of people don't really know about or at least they don't go to, called Cave Falls, in the Bechler (pronounced: Bec - ler) Meadows area. The area in total has over 22 waterfalls altogether, if you have a couple of days to hike to them all. After driving to Cave Falls, we continued hiking about a mile and a half further to another waterfall in the vicinity called Bechler Falls, which wasn't as impressive as cave falls, but still was fun to hike to, with the exception of about a million mosquitoes (next time we'll think of bringing repellant). After the hike we started heading back towards the main road, and all of the sudden Jennie says she thinks she saw a bear (or a cow, she wasn't sure at the time), so we back up and start looking at what she saw, and from a distance, we really couldn't tell what it was either, until after looking for about a minute, it all of the sudden starts walking, and then we could immediately tell that it was a bear, a Grizzley bear. (Daman has better picutres of it, I'll try and get those as well)
So as we come up around the bend we see a spot to pull off the road, but no bear. We get out of the car and start poking around trying to see where he might of gone. By this time we were in a much more forested area and our ability to see all around was hindered, which got a little spooky, thinking that the bear could jump out from anywhere and come after us, so we tried to be cautious as we looked around for him, and then as we were about to leave this bear jumps out of the bushes and starts charging us (just kidding, I just wanted to make the story more interesting), anyway as we were about to leave Daman spots the bear or at least we thought it was the same one, coming out of a clearing a couple hundred feet away, but as we took some pictures of it and got a good look at it, we noticed that this bear was a black bear, a totally different bear from the one we saw earlier, which made things a little more spooky thinking that we were staring and taking pictures of this black bear for a couple of minutes, not knowing that the grizzley bear was still out there somewhere that we couldn't see.
So we thought we'd better get back to the car and call it a day.
So Daman and I are walking around trying to get a better shot of him with our camera's, and we are able to kind of watch him go along the mountainside over near where the road ahead winds around, so we thought we could drive up and get a lot closer at it.
